Really good pizza but the atmosphere is something to be desired with a staff that’s unhelpful and “can’t be bothered”. It also feels like you’re eating at an arcade due to the lackluster interior but the crowd is families and groups, not just teens. We’ll definitely be back to try more items and other pizzas. The medium is just right for two people and Bob’s Supreme pizza is very good.
I love this pizza. Some if the best around. I'm pretty simple with pepperoni only in mine.
My favorite pizza is made here. Best in St. Louis by far, they got no competitors. PMS: pepperoni, mushroom and sausage. Oh so good, the crust is the best not too thick and not too thin and just the right amount of chew. Love it every time.
Great St. Louis style 🍕. Lunch deals til 3:00 daily include small pizza, salad, and soda for $9; upgrade to draft or bottle beer 🍻 for $1.50 more! Nice atmosphere and outdoor seating available. We will be back!
Good service and Pizza, salad and chicken wings!
If you're not from St. Louis and you don't like St. Louis style pizza (the kind with gross provel cheese on it) then try this place. Best Pizza in St. Louis (it's thin crunchy crust style). Wide variety of other stuff on menu as well; sandwiches, salads, appetizers, pasta, etc. Service is always great and prices are very reasonable.
This is a strange but split opinion. The pizza is fantastic and always hits the spot. There are lots of options for specialty pizzas and you can build whatever you want. However, Fortel’s has a long way to go at this location in terms of where the cash register is, how crammed the tables are, how drinks are given out, and how loud the open kitchen is as well as the various refrigerators.
Very tasty pizza; thin, crispy and spicy. Being from the south I would have liked sweet tea.
Usually one of our favorite places with a great lunch special. Last visit though service was poor, my wife's and mine pizza came out a good 15 minutes before our kid's without any mention.
Always great pizza. Staff is polite and restaurant is clean.
My second time ordering from Fortels. Ordered deliver at 7:34pm. Got food at 8:50 pm. Went out of the box with my order. I Was not satisfied. Combo platter was soggy, mini burgers seemed old. Pizza seems to be the only way to go.
Pretty good pizza if you get topping. Our cheese wasn't very good. Friendly workers.
Food was done in timely manner. It just sat in the heater for a good 15 minutes until I asked one of the servers to check if it was mine.
Fortel's Pizza Den off Olive offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I don't say this lightly when I say that Fortel's is the *best* pizza I have ever eaten. I recommend my favorite: hand tossed pizza with pesto sauce... My toppings include feta cheese, eggplant, fresh mushrooms, and roasted red peppers. It's a great place for vegetarians. For you carnivores, the tuscan chicken is a great addition as well. I know a lot of pizza places will skimp you on toppings if you order a lot, but my pizza was still overflowing with toppings. It's a seat-yourself kind of place, where you fill up your own drinks. I like that tip isn't needed! The staff have all been very friendly to me. They will even send you a free pizza on your birthday. The only problem I have had is with their hours: I went there after 9 on Sunday and they were already closed, despite having their website and store signs still saying 10. PS, you get a cup you can take home with you!
Our party tried three different types of pizza and they each tasted wonderful. Classic cheese pizza, ham and pineapple, and Buffalo chicken. By far the Buffalo chicken was the winner. The salads were all reasonably priced and well made. I would highly recommend for the quality of the food.
One of our Absolute FAVorite pizza places in St. Louis. Most like Imo's as the home favorite... I like Fortels....lol (I'm Also Not From St Louis either)
Great staff. Great good.
Great food great atmosphere
The food here is phenomenal, I like their fountain drinks. It took a while for them to get my food done though, we waited about 35 minutes and were the second group to order. Customer service guy was helpful
Food is great. Service is great.
Ok pixxa is decent. The place is sleays easy to access with no wait Thru do have a decent beer selection.
Good pizza and a nice casual atmosphere. Have Pepsi products
Decent lunch specials. 9" thin crust pizza, salad, & soda. Served quickly, and to your table.
After a long day of moving we decided pizza would be best. The place wasn't crowded or busy. We ordered the 5lb bucket of hot wings and pizza. The pizza was great. The wings were bland and dry. We requested some more hot sauce for the wings. They poured a lil bit but didn't mix the wings. So only a small amount of this large order of wings had sauce. Other then that the food was fine.
Go for the taco pizza! We visit Fortel's Pizza Den every time we are in St. Louis to see our son. Excellent.
Best damn piece around
Excellent thin crust...had meat lovers. Good place
Food was ok. The cheese sticks are NOT mozzerella.... the menu should state that.
Love their pizza. Eat in, carry out, or delivery. Loaded with toppings.
This place has excellent pizza. Simple or delicious specialty. I love the Bailey's spicy buffalo chicken deluxe. I don't honestly get pizza that often but, when I really want something especially good I head right here to Fortells. Yes, it's not super close to me, not my budget place to go but, with great customer service thrown in it's a must. Make it how you want, get the kids a cheese pizza. Its all delicious. Picking up one right now for my mother and me to share when I make it home. I also recommend the Freds Philly cheese steak deluxe pizza. Great with a few friends since it's super rich. Sandwiches, salads, desserts and more. You will find something you will enjoy for sure :)
No longer called Fortels. Now is Nana Mama's. Toppings are edge to edge. Same great pizza just rebranding. Prompt friendly service. Can order beer here too. Usually have Cardinals ga.e on.
Food is decent. A little pricey though. Ordered two apps and a salad to share with a side if garlic bread and total was $32 w/o tip. Nothing unique or special to brag about.
This St. Louis classic has great pizza and is something I love. This is a family restaurant so it sometimes gets loud, but not anything unacceptable.
This place is always delightful. Their food is excellent, and the pizza is the best in town! Lunch prices are super good, and the time is always very short in the weights. I highly recommend to this place to any Pizza Lover anywhere.
Always good food and service. Many selections to choose from or you can build your own pizza.
The "cheese, cheese, cheese" was probably the best cheese pizza I've ever had. I really enjoyed the unique texture of bottleneck fries too. However, I'm docking two stars for the apathy and general rudeness of the staff. They seemed bothered by all the customers, like we were interrupting their fun private social hour. They were almost all young kids, so i get that they are learning how to be decent people and this job will help them. That's great, but the shift could've used an adult presence. The food is good enough that I'll continue to put up with it, I guess.
The best St. Louis pizza i tried so far.
Tasty Pizza, crust not my cup of tea, Salad was super enjoyable
It wasn't the worst we've ever had but I surely can't say it was the best. My daughter didn't even like her cheese pizza. We ordered the garlic cheese bread that the menu claimed to be on french bread, it came out AFTER the pizza because they forgot to make it and it was simply a greasy cheese hoagie with hardly any garlic flavor. We got the Brynn's Chicken Florentine Delux pizza. It had pretty good flavor, but it had more cheese than anything else, where's the chicken and spinach? I would not recommend this place unless you like overpriced food.
They have given up the Fortel's franchise & are now Nana Mama's. Everything is virtually the same except for the name. Pizza is almost the same recipe, but the spices are a little different. Still, worth a visit.
We ordered Bob's Deluxe. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It was covered in piled-high fresh toppings. The sauce was perfect, just the right amount of spice. The crust was really good. Next time, I'll order it a little crispier, but I have no complaints about how it was cooked this time. I got the hot 'n spicy chicken wings. They were very meaty. The sauce was just how I like it. I can't wait to try other items on their menu and to take friends and family to eat there.
Get the Spicy Bacon Cheeseburger pizza. It's the best. I can't bring myself to try anything else there because I'm worried that it can't be as good.
I told them I was new to the area and they recommended a good first pizza and local beer and to try they were both very good. The environment is very relaxing and the service was quick as well. The staff was both knowledgeable, friendly yet professional when we were talking.
So much yes! I order from Fortel's all the time. They're frequently on Groupon so snag your discount there! Their delivery is quick, or you can dine in / pick up. The more toppings, the better. Don't be afraid to experiment around with their meats and load it up with veggies.
Delicious and well priced pizzas. Their creamy pesto is outstanding and the house salad dressing shouldn't be missed.
The food is great and customer service is superb!
Extra sauce pepperoni bacon sub reg cheese for peperjack cheese. Yes. Great location love the food and employees.
The Cesar salad was mostly croutons which was kind of weird. Other than that I love fortels
The lunch pizza special is a good value. You get a small pizza worth your choice of toppings and their salad. The thin crust pizza is crispy, cheesy and savory. The salad is fresh, with a meaty cheesy topping.
